Those who rise again and learn from their mistakes and thrust forward with many folds of energy than the last time will attain tremendous success one day.

History has given many such people to us. Learning what they avoided in their life to be successful and creating milestones in the history of this humankind will pose to be a guide to our success. Wouldn’t it be a great help for us to know those things to avoid in our journey to success? Continue reading to learn about those 5 top things to avoid to be successful.

Lack of clear vision

Knowing what to do removes most of the fear associated with failure. You cannot see colors with blindfolding your eyes. To enjoy the view, you should have the vision clear. Hence this comes first to avoid to be successful.

Having clear goals to accomplish, be it your personal life or business, puts your thoughts on the right track. Once ideas are on the right way, you follow them with your heart and soul.

It is common to fail. Failures are the stepping stone to success. But knowing what you want to accomplish to be successful and failing in the process provides a meaning for that failure. Without a clear vision, and if you cannot relate the failure to your determined attempts to succeed, it is not helping you anyway.

You cannot shoot at the target without aiming at it. Know your target. You are halfway through your success.

Fear of failure

Fear of failure occurs when you are not clear on your vision. When you are not clear on your vision, you are not confident about the path to take. This unclear state of mind eventually instills the fear of failure. It starts with a slight doubt and grows to become a significant obstacle in your journey towards your goal. Whatever attempts you make with this mindset will go in vain.

All you have to do to come out of this state is to be clear on your goals. Once you gain clarity on what you have to do, you will march forward with total confidence. Win over your fear to be successful.

How to overcome the fear of failure?

When the track is smooth, it does not create seasoned drivers. Failures are like those speed bumps that slow you down and traffic signals that help you watch what’s coming from other sides. Learn biographies of successful leaders and achievers to know what they avoided to be successful in their life and career. This will give a boost to your self-confidence, and fear reduces gradually.

So plan and move ahead with clarity, and failures are stepping stones for success.

Procrastination

Procrastination is the thief of time. It keeps eating up into your valuable time towards your success.

You postponing your actions are primarily due to not being clear on your goals and the fear of failure. If you are clear on those two, then the only thing holding you from your success is only you.

The attitude with which you start your journey is most important than your intention to be successful. The intention is a short-term desire unless it has a solid and clear goal. But attitude is a behavior that helps you through your journey and even after achieving your goal.

Your attitude helps you to sail through your journey and does not need any push. Do not delay implementing anything that moves you a bit closer to your goals.

Procrastinating things for good is okay, like waiting for the right circumstances to implement certain things. But keep moving. Remove the “let’s do it later” mindset and install the “do it now” attitude.

Blaming others

Accept your mistakes and stop blaming others

You blame others when you face a setback in your journey. Our human tendency looks for someone to take the blame. But does it help?

What do you gain by blaming others? Nothing. Instead, think about what might be the mistake that you made that caused the situation. Blaming yourself will open up a new perspective before you. You’ll start seeing plenty of things that were not visible to you earlier. If you keep blaming some or the other for every failure, you’ll never reach your destination. Instead, ask, “How could I have done this better?”.

Take some time off to relax. Sometimes, you cannot find the answer to a problem with the same mindset you have created. It would help if you looked from a different perspective. Talk to your mentor. Take some training related to your field. Even a single point of information you received in a day-long training may significantly impact your journey.

Stop blaming others for your incapability to brace up and level up your game to be successful. Learn to accept your mistakes and correct them to learn new dimensions of your journey to success.

Inconsistency

Having removed all of the above obstacles will help you start your journey to success with complete confidence and a fearless heart. But the result of your attempts depends on how persistent you are in your actions to attain your desired success.

It is not about planting a sapling. It is about how it is maintained decides the fruit it bears. Planning perfectly and acting as per plan without any doubt will benefit only if your actions are consistent. How you do anything is how you do everything. If you want to be successful in life, you have to be perfect in everything you do. It may be the way you make your bed once you are wake up, the way you dress, the way you speak, everything.

If documenting the actions and the results for that day is vital for you to measure and plan for the next day’s activities, do it regularly. That will help you to review and revise if you see no significant results delivered.

Taking time off to relax and review the progress of your actions is okay. But dropping the journey midway and detouring into something that is not relevant to your goals is going to pull you down. Plan your action and action your plan.

Time is the most valued commodity in this world only because it is consistent. Be consistent in what you do to prove your worthiness.

Conclusion

There may be several other things that hold you from achieving your goals in life. But these are the most important things, in my opinion, you have to overcome to make your journey a grand success. Goals are not mere targets. They are memories of us creating value for our time on earth. They add value to others as well. Such a journey should be cherished and should stand as a testimony for others.
